Learn to swim for the first time. Remove the stress and struggle.

This course is four weeks long, with one 60-minute lesson per week.

Price

The full lesson series:

  • $200 per person ($50 per lesson hour)

Each lesson is approximately 60 minutes in the pool. The whole series is composed of 4x 60 minute sessions. Each series will be started when there are 2 or more registered participants.

Courthouse and Mittleman JCC Members receive a 10% discount.

Invite a friend or two and form a training group!

Practice Required
Just as if you were practicing a musical instrument or a foreign language, it is important to your progress that you practice on your own between lessons, at least once, if not two or three times.

You may need to hold off on scheduling lessons until you have room in your schedule to include those personal practice times between. They don’t need to be long practice sessions, but frequent practice will help you make steady progress from lesson to lesson.

The course is held at Courthouse Club Fitness Lancaster club on Tuesday afternoons, 13:00 to 14:00 pm.

Course starts promptly. You are encouraged to arrive to the pool 15 minutes early so you can get in the water and warm up with gentle, pleasant movements before the start of each lesson.

It will be helpful to your learning process if you will be able to schedule your own practice time outside these lesson times.

If these dates and times are not suitable for you, you may consider registering for Private Lessons with one of our instructors.

Suitability
This course is intended for those who DO NOT experience strong fear or anxiety in water. For that we would encourage you to attend our 4-Week Pool Comfort course.

This course is suitable for those who cannot swim yet, or for those who can swim in some fashion, but would like to make their stroke feel and work a lot better. You should be able to submerge your face underwater, take your hands and feet away from the edges and bottom, and hold your breath comfortably for 15 seconds.

Important Sequence

These lessons are taught in a critical sequence. Missing one of first three would make it difficult to step into the following lesson. If you miss a lesson and need to make it up there is an $80 makeup lesson fee. You may schedule that makeup lesson with your coach at a mutually convenient time before the next lesson in the sequence.

Lessons are 60 minutes in pool, starting promptly.

The instructor is in the water with you, ready to guide with words, hands, demonstrations, and personal feedback.

Access to changing room and pool (for guests at the facility).
