For 10 years I’ve been publishing nearly every week on this Smooth Strokes blog, with more than 500 articles. This blog is dedicated to discussing the practice of swimming, mindfulness, fitness, advanced training and beyond.

If you’ve been viewing this blog occasionally, you would notice that I am discussing much more than swimming – I am fascinated with the mind, with the entire body, with the entire being, and improving our skills for longevity. I place great emphasis on being wise and mature athletes who take special care of the body so that it can keep supporting us to our oldest age, as demonstrated in the latest article: There Are Consequences

To honor this emphasis better, I’ve launched a new blog called The Longevity Athlete which I am using to share insights and resources for the quest of building a longer, stronger, more fulfilling life.

Here are some of the main skills we study on this blog:

  • Mindfulness
  • Breathing
  • Nutrition
  • Movement Health
  • Goal Setting
  • Sleep Nutrition
  • Skilled Athletics
  • Injury Prevention
  • Emotional Resilience
  • Relationships

The vision is for this blog to turn into a book, and the brand to become a trusted collection of selected resources, and spawn special live training events that can take you farther on your longevity quest.

I invite you to subscribe to this blog, subscribe to the TLA newsletter, like the TLA Facebook page, and subscribe to the TLA Twitter feed.
